Fostering Belonging & Connection: Looking back at the 2025 Summit

SUMMIT YOUTH TRACK
Last year we launched our inaugural Youth Track (now called the Emerging Leaders Track), bringing together 38 young people (ages 18-22) in the mentoring field to experience a Summit specifically tailored to them and their personal and professional growth. While connecting with and learning from their peers, young people lead and engaged in specialized workshops, including Reclaiming the Narrative through Art Expression: “Our Stories” Zine Workshop led by I AM WHY and Navigating the World of Advocacy as Young People: Powerful Agents of Change led by Charles “Choo” Smith Jr., Former Harlem Globe Trotter and Founder & Chairman of Choo Smith Youth Empowerment, Inc. And Pritika Kharkwal, Youth Consultant. Thank you to our 2025 Signature Youth Track Sponsor, Marshalls.
IMPACT HIVE
We hosted the first ever Impact Hive session for peers and leaders in the philanthropic, youth development and mentoring fields to network, learn, and engage with each other and with Summit Scholars (a diverse group of young leaders working across the mentoring field). Small groups helped Summit Scholars identify actionable solutions to address a specific challenge they face in their professional careers/organizations. As a Summit Scholar shared, “Never before did I think it was possible for me, a young professional just starting o in this field working could one day do something like found a non-profit or be a CEO. After this experience I now feel like that isn’t only possible, but an aspiration of mine.” Thank you to EY for sponsoring and hosting this session.

SPONSOR BOOTH & AUTHOR SIGNINGS
Attendees connected with representatives from our Summit Sponsors, Bank of America and EY who showcased their product oerings and services for the field as well as featured authors like Daniella Gonyoe (A Billion Colored Roses), Rob Robertson (Persevering Through Happiness), Pritika Kharkwal (It’s Time to Start Looking In: An Interactive Guide to Happiness by a Youth for Youth ), and Daon McLarin Johnson (Becoming Lion).
Testimonials

“The National Mentoring Summit is an invaluable opportunity to meld minds with leading mentoring advocates, philanthropies, and corporations. What an incredible opportunity to continue building personal and organizational capacity, as well as to bridge the gap between aspiring mentors and unmentored youth.”
